![]() Lois is the goatkeeper and cheesemaker. She worked as an occupational therapist for 20 years before having the midlife crisis responsible for Reichert's Dairy Air. An avid and accomplished cook, she enjoys the challenges and creativity of cheese making. Her real love, however, is the goats, caring for them, and keeping them healthy.
Jack is "Chief Procurer of
Hay." As a full time psychologist, he is not involved in day to
day dairy operations, but is responsible for finding, hauling, and
stacking lots of great hay! He also is the relief milker and buck
manager. Jack had raised dairy goats before he and Lois met, and he
spent several years trying to talk her into getting a few milking does.
Man, is he sorry about that now.
Ben likes to describe his
role as "Chief of Manure Management." He is a big help to mom in the
dairy and is always eager to chip in and help clean the barn. He's a
good milker, kid raiser, and enjoys showing dairy goats at the county
fair. He's the reason we got goats in the first place, as he did not
tolerate cow's milk. So really, this is all his fault.

Ellie is our Leonberger and
often feels it's necessary to foster mother the hand raised
kids. It makes her feel important and the
kids like crawling on
her and nibbling on her fur. She is also a therapy dog at the Veteran's
Hospital in Knoxville and is loved by everyone
there for her large size and great temperament (once a guy ran over her
tail with his wheelchair and she never made a sound or a move!).
